My old friend and mentor Dr Airell Hodgkinson has recently completed an audit in his hospital looking at the outcomes for patients with fractured NOF (hips).

He and his fellow GP Anaesthetists wanted to know if they were doing the right thing by their patients - operating on them in a regional town vs. transferring to a tertiary centre with specialists Anesthetists and ICU backup.

So I recorded this chat with Airell about his audit and the bigger picture of "Doing good medicine" as a GP proceduralist in the rural areas.

Its probbly not something many city doctors think about much - but its a concept that we rural generalists think about frequently
